"Smart and Climate-Neutral City by 2030" Awards
These awards promote talent, innovation, knowledge transfer and entrepreneurship. They are organised by IdeVa, the Innovation and Economic Development Agency of Valladolid City Council, in collaboration with the University of Valladolid, through its Foundation, and are endowed with a total prize fund of €12,000.
To submit an application, candidates must access the Valladolid City Council's Electronic Headquarters and submit their entry using the General Application Form.
Which research fields are assessed?
Works focused on the following themes which can be developed in the city of Valladolid may be presented:
Measures for a more eco-friendly city.
Prevention and reduction of climate change impacts.
Access to employment and training improvement.
Sustainable resource management and Circular Economy.
Promotion of connectivity and sustainable mobility.
Lead and promotion of digital innovation.
Increase citizen participation instruments.
Digitalisation of access to municipal services for citizens and visitors.
Digitalisation (and modernisation) of local commerce and municipal markets.
Usage of Artificial Intelligence to improve public services.
Who is eligible to apply?
University of Valladolid students who have completed their Bachelor's or Master's Degree Final Projects during the academic years 2022-2023 and 2023-2024.
Deadline for submitting applications
Until and including October 1st, 2024.
Documentation
To participate it is necessary to fill in a General Application Form accompanied by the following documents:
- Annex I: Application for participation in the call for Final Degree (TFG) and Master's Degree (TFM) or end-of-studies projects for students of the University of Valladolid 2024.
- Photocopy of ID card.
- Complete project in PDF format (in Spanish). It will not be accepted on paper, in the case of on-site presentation it will be provided in a USB in the physical registry.
- Accreditation document of enrolment in the 2022-2023 or 2023-2024 academic years in the dissertation or master's thesis.
- Certificate or academic document stating the title of the dissertation, as well as the author's identity, the grade obtained and the academic year in which it was completed, signed by the academic supervisor. The City Council of Valladolid may request the UVa to verify this academic data.
- Certificate of ownership of a bank account in the name of the applicant, with reference to the IBAN and BIC, which must not be older than six months.
It is advisable to process the application electronically through the Electronic Office of the City Council of Valladolid.
Awards
There will be two categories, one for Master's Thesis and the other for Bachelor's Thesis with the following awards:
- First Prize: 3,000 euros
- Second Prize: 1,500 euros
- Third Prize: 900 euros
- Two runner-up prizes: 300 euros
