Award Categories
The jury will consist of five industry professionals with extensive expertise in the video game sector. They will assess the submitted projects based on their originality, technical quality, artistic direction, and innovation. Each category carries a €5,000 prize:
🕹️ Best Indie Game 2025
Awarded to the most outstanding independent video game of the year, recognizing its creativity, innovation, and impact on players.
🖥️ Best Indie PC/Console Game
Honors the indie title that excels on traditional gaming platforms, standing out for its gameplay, overall quality, and player experience.
👾 Best Indie VR Game
Recognizes the best Virtual Reality title, celebrating immersive and innovative experiences that push the boundaries of the medium.
🎨 Best Art Direction
Awarded for outstanding visual excellence, including artistic style, design quality, and aesthetic coherence that leaves a lasting impression on players.
📖 Best Narrative Indie Game
Presented to games in which storytelling, character development, and world-building are at the heart of the experience.
Who Can Apply?
➡️ Individuals aged 18 or over who are residents of Spain.
➡️ Independent studios or companies, provided they qualify as micro-enterprises or SMEs, are less than five years old, and have an annual turnover of under €300,000.
➡️ Completed or in-development projects, as long as they include at least a functional playable build.
➡️ Already published video games, provided their first commercial release took place after January 1, 2024.
➡️ Participants may submit more than one video game, although they may receive only one award across all categories.
Registration and Deadlines
If you would like your indie project to gain recognition, submit your application online before September 26 using the application form, which will be available on the Valladolid City Council and IdeVa websites. Applicants must also provide the documentation specified in the official rules and guidelines.
Finalists will be announced during the second half of October 2025 and will have the opportunity to showcase their work at the awards ceremony, scheduled to take place in late October or early November at IdeVa's headquarters (Vega Sicilia Street, 2 bis, Valladolid). The event will serve as a key meeting point for game creators, developers, and industry professionals.
