Tech Lab 1094

The Castilla y León Digital Content Technology Laboratory (Tech Lab 1094) is a strategic center for the digital content industry located in Valladolid. Its main objective is to foster entrepreneurship and strengthen an innovative ecosystem focused on video games, virtual reality, and audiovisual production, positioning itself as a hub for attracting digital content projects.

This initiative is part of Valladolid’s Innovation and Smart City Plan and represents a joint commitment by the Valladolid City Council and the Regional Government of Castilla y León (Junta de Castilla y León) to promote the video game industry and digital arts in both the city and the wider region.

One of the Technology Laboratory’s key initiatives has been the first edition of the Pucela Game Awards, featuring €25,000 in prize funding. Finalists and winners will also gain free access to the Laboratory.

A Cutting-Edge Technology Center

Tech Lab 1094 is a state-of-the-art 700 m² facility located at Valle de Arán Street, 3, on a 3,000 m² municipal site. Following the refurbishment of the industrial building and the development of the surrounding area, the center is in the final stages of its technology deployment, supported by an investment of €1.815 million.

The center is scheduled to open in the coming months, providing entrepreneurs, independent studios, and start-ups in the digital and gaming sectors with an advanced environment for training, project incubation, and acceleration, together with access to cutting-edge technology.

The Laboratory features high-end infrastructure and equipment, including:

Virtual, augmented, and mixed reality headsets
Interactive displays
Virtual production studio
Motion capture room
Photogrammetry dome
Robotics systems with AI-based programming

Digital Arts and Video Games

The action plan will focus on digital arts and video game development, while also encouraging coding and programming skills at an early age. In addition, it will provide advanced training opportunities aimed at attracting and retaining talent in Valladolid.

In this context, digital content encompasses ideas and projects related to the Media & Entertainment sector, as well as a range of complementary areas of activity.

Partnerships and Ecosystem

Tech Lab 1094 is being developed in close collaboration with specialized organizations and platforms such as ASIVI (the Castilla y León Video Game Industry Association) and VAGDA (Valladolid Game Development Association), along with other national initiatives including Málaga Digital Content Hub, Madrid in Game, Salamanca’s JAP, and ACADEVI (the Canary Islands Video Game Developers Association), among others.

This network of interregional cooperation helps position Valladolid as a leading destination within Spain’s video game and digital content industry.
