Projects

We carry out pioneering national and international projects in consortia in which the Valladolid City Council is a key partner; European initiatives with a focus on decarbonization, sustainable mobility, urban renaturalization, adaptation to climate change, digital transformation, energy efficiency and circular economy, among other areas.

More than twenty innovation projects with European funding in recent years focused on sustainable development of Valladolid and, even more so, since the European Green Deal defines the roadmap of decarbonization, with people as protagonists and economic urban growth, social and environmental in the same balance.

The Fasa district, in Valladolid, which is home to more than 1,000 people and 400 families, is today an example of energy rehabilitation. Its neighbors have managed to save more than 60% in their energy consumption and drastically reduce the carbon footprint in a renovated neighborhood.

Making industrial areas more livable and having green and blue spaces and infrastructures is INDNATUR's field of action. A pilot project of Interreg, from Spain and Portugal, which seeks renaturation to strengthen its capacity to adapt to climate change.

Adaptation to climate change is the fundamental objective of this project; in which a "Climate Change Adaptation Strategy" has been drawn up, with a comprehensive approach, a common methodology and in collaboration with other cities in Spain and Portugal.

Training and teaching cities so that they can finance and implement their climate action plans is the objective of PROSPECT+. A Horizon 2020 project, with a learning program in which Valladolid is a mentor due to her experience in innovative projects.

Citizen participation to improve public transport policies is one of the keys to this Interreg Europe project. It seeks that users contribute their vision for the design of a new sustainable mobility and that they change their routines and habits. All this in order to reduce the carbon footprint.

A long journey of cooperation since 2013 is the starting point of the CENCYL GREEN TRANSITION project that consolidates the work of the CENCYL CITIES NETWORK. Spain and Portugal, hand in hand, to offer climate solutions that improve the quality of life in border territories.
