The municipal programme, implemented in collaboration with the Valladolid Chamber of Commerce, has approved 76 applications to develop environmental responsibility plans and reduce emissions, with a budget of €134,500.
68% of the beneficiary companies are micro-enterprises operating in sectors such as professional services, industry, retail, hospitality, tourism and logistics.
More than 16 decarbonisation plans have been completed, and over 50 initiatives are already underway to improve energy efficiency, mobility, waste management and energy generation.
The municipal grant programme supporting environmental corporate responsibility has approved 76 applications from 41 companies in Valladolid. Of these, 37 grants are intended for the development of environmental responsibility and decarbonisation plans, while the remaining 39 will support the implementation of measures aimed at reducing emissions associated with business activities.
The initiative stems from a public-private partnership agreement between Valladolid City Council and the Valladolid Chamber of Commerce. With a total budget of €134,500, it forms part of the Valladolid Climate Mission Action Plan, coordinated by IdeVa (the Innovation and Economic Development Agency) to advance the city’s goal of achieving climate neutrality.
Micro-enterprises and Diverse Sectors
Micro-enterprises account for 68% of beneficiary companies. The programme has attracted businesses from a wide range of economic activities, although professional services, including engineering firms, technology companies and consultancies, represent the largest group.
Participating organisations also come from the industrial, hospitality, retail, tourism, logistics, leisure and environmental services sectors. This diversity helps extend sustainability and decarbonisation measures across different areas of the local economy.
More Than 50 Initiatives Underway
Currently, more than 50 projects are being implemented. In addition, 16 environmental responsibility plans and nine emission-reduction measures have already been completed.
Participating companies are working in areas such as:
- Energy efficiency
- Employee and operational mobility
- Waste management
- Renewable energy generation
- Carbon offsetting
These measures aim not only to reduce the environmental impact of economic activity but also to improve efficiency, lower costs and strengthen business competitiveness.
The programme provides a comprehensive support service that includes information, advisory services and ongoing guidance. It covers the preparation of an environmental responsibility plan, including diagnostics, performance indicators and improvement proposals, as well as financial support for implementing selected recommended actions.
Applications and Reserve List
Although the approved applications currently account for the available budget, the programme remains open until 21 September 2026 at 2:00 p.m. New applications may be placed on a reserve list should any of the approved projects not be carried out.
The Valladolid Chamber of Commerce has confirmed this deadline and provides detailed information on application procedures through the official grant programme website.
